What does the initial consultation involve?
Your first naturopathic consultation is very thorough and informative, involving the following components:
Health History
Katherine will take your full health history on your firist consultation.This includes discussing your past and current fertility and reproductive health, as well as the health of the rest of your body. Having your history allows Katherine to determine the best treatment strategy for you.
Iridiology
Iridology involves looking into the iris of the eye using a special magnifying iris scope. The iris can give us many clues about your health, and can help to confirm any underlying health issues.
Tongue and Nail Analysis
Your tongue and nails contains valuable information about your nutritional status and the health of your digestive system.
Menstrual Cycle Charting
On your first visit, Katherine will teach you hwo to chart your menstrual cycle. Charting invovles taking your temperature and monitoring changes in cervical mucus. This information gives Katherine an insight into the changes of your menstrual cycle, when you are ovulating and whether the two halves of your cycle are the correct length.
Blood and Other Testing
If you already have blood tests please ensure that you bring copies of them with you. Katherine may request that you get blood or salivary hormone testing, although this is not always necessary. Testing can be organised by Katherine or through your doctor.
